The Deal

The Dealer
After the cards are dealt, the dealer is the first player to act. The dealer deals the cards to all the players in turn, beginning with the player on their left. Each player is allowed to choose whether they want to be dealt one or two additional cards and is able to bet on the next round.
Betting rounds
A betting round in poker is a series of actions by the players, with the first round usually being the most important. Each round is a separate action, but each has an effect on the subsequent rounds. The ante, blinds, and bring-ins are the three main types of bets in poker.
The Pot
The pot is the total sum of all the bets in a game. The pot is a source of income for the players, and it is the objective of the players to get as much money into the pot as possible before the final betting round begins. This is done by determining the odds of each bet and making decisions based on probability, psychology, and game theory.
It is vital to know when to bet, and when to fold. There are several factors that should be taken into account when deciding when to bet or fold, including the strength of your hand and the size of the pot.
